Many of these quotes are paragraphs long and violate the Sri Sathya Sai Books & Publications Trust copyrights. Who has obtained permission to duplicate these long quotes from the Trust and where has this information been divulged? SSS108 20:45, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Flagged For Copyright Violations
I have flagged this article for copyrights violations. Most of the quotes have been taken from Sathya Sai Baba's discourses which have been published in books called "Sathya Sai Speaks". These books are copyrighted to the Sri Sathya Sai Books & Publications Trust [1] and chapters are prefaced with the following disclaimer:
- "The copyright and the rights of translation in any language are reserved by the Publisher. No part, para, passage, text or photo-graph or art work of this book should be reproduced, transmitted or utilised, in original language or by translation, in any form, or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photo copying, recording or by any information, storage or retrieval system, except with and prior permission, in writing from The Convener Sri Sathya Sai Books & Publications Trust, Prasanthi Nilayam, (Andhra Pradesh) India, except for brief passages quoted in book review. This book can be exported from India only by Sri Sathya Sai Books and Publications Trust, Prasanthi Nilayam (India)." [2] [3], etc.

[edit] Controversial Quote
The controversial quote that Andries and others keep trying to include is not even sourced to the right discourse. Andries admitted he has not read the hard copy and the real discourse does not provide the words for the quote. See [4]. SSS108 talk-email 01:39, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- The correct citation was given by me. You mistakenly cited the wrong speech and this quote is also available in Sathya Sai literature. Ekantik 17:18, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- If there is a problem with this quote than you can move it down to the attributed section until further notice. No need for deleting. Please keep revert wars away from this page. Ekantik 17:19, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Ekantik, you have never seen this quote for yourself. You are basing it on the very same premise that Andries is basing it on, i.e., speculation. The quote came from a Telugu Poem which was not translated, but summarized. It is not a quote and until you provide an actual quote from the actual book it is going to be removed. SSS108 talk-email 18:15, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Don't be so sure that I haven't seen the quote. Please keep your battlegrounds with Andries on Wikipedia away from Wikiquote. If you have a problem with the quote then move it into the attributed section instead of removing it like I told you. Any simple Google search will obtain results, you should check out the speech of 21st October 1993. Now enough. Ekantik 01:08, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- In future, place disputed quotes into a new Misattributed section as per Wikiquote policy in FAQ. Ekantik 01:27, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
If you saw the quote, why didn't you say so? You have not seen the quote, that much is certain. The discourse you cited contains a summary and is not an actual quote. Until you get the actual quote, it isn't an actual quote. Period. The quote in question is not an misattribution. SSS108 talk-email 05:44, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- On Wikipedia you were arguing that all of SSB's discourses are online and for the wrong citation, now you are arguing that SSB's online discourse contain summaries. The quote stays and is moved to a misattributed section. We have done enough research into the matter. Do not tamper with the page. Ekantik 06:36, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- The file record states that the quote is an excerpt from the speech. Therefore it is a quote albeit an excerpt from the full speech which doesn't appear to have been transcribed fully. The quote is no longer misattributed and thus returned to the sourced section. Ekantik 06:47, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Looks like the quote has been changed considerably from my version. There may be variants, SSS108 what are you talking about? This quote is sourced all over the place in Baba's literatures. Stop vandalizing the page. SaiSlayer 23:40, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
SSS108 is carrying on a battle with Andries that has spilt over from Talk:Sathya Sai Baba|Wikipedia over the quote that he claims is unsourced. He removed the original quote which he claims is not in the hard copy (not having seen it himself), and when I found a variant version that is available in the online records of the Baba's speeches (which SSS108 agrees are a proper record) he objects that it is a summary when the record says it is an excerpt. I've also asked him to stop reverting the page which is a violation of WikiQuote policy (see FAQ link above) and to create a Misattributed section for disputed quotes. He still stubbornly refuses to agree. This page needs cleanup anyway. Ekantik 02:18, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks Ekantik. I'll look into possible disciplinary measures as conflicts from other Wiki-projects are frowned upon. I have corrected the quote according to a published source. This quote is well known in Sai books and is sourced in many places. SaiSlayer 17:13, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
